There’s a new company entering the mobile healthcare space in Asia, and it is perhaps an unlikely name. That’s because telecom giant Telenor has launched Tonic, a service that provides basic medical information as well as more sophisticated services.
Tonic has launched first in Bangladesh via Telenor-owned Grameenphone, the country’s largest operator with over 57 million customers.
Bangladesh is the world’s eighth largest country with a population of 168 million people, yet there are just 0.4 doctors per 1,000 people and the World Health Organization estimates that 60 percent of national healthcare spend is not covered by insurance. Continue reading →

Ernst & Young has recently published a very interesting report about job satisfaction and enjoyment in Swiss business branches (private and government).
It is interesting to see that among many industries people are far less happy and enjoy their work in the sectors of insurance and banking, few leading categories in Switzerland, where evergreen Pharma and raising Biotech are at the top.
We are wondering why is that so. Maybe it is also another indirect sign that the industry is expecting a big change in nearest future?

Check the following things before you send off your claim:
you’re within the time limits for making a claim
you’re covered for what you’re claiming for
how much the excess is. The excess is the amount of money that your insurer will take off the claim. It may not be worth making a claim if the amount you’re claiming for is less than this
the small print. Make sure there’s nothing in the terms and conditions that prevents you from claiming
